About the project
Kate Lissauer is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and composer from Maryland, USA, who has been living and performing in the UK for many years. Kate asked me to make a video to showcase a new duo project for 2025 with Appalachian step-dancer, Sibylle Riesen. She also needed a new website that put the video centre stage.
Kate approached me to make her a film showcasing her new project. She wanted something to use to send to promoters and booking agents that gave a flavour and explanation of what the new duo show is. At the same time she wanted me to design and build a website to compliment the look and feel of the video.
Kate's show is intimate so I wanted to shoot it as though it was a stage performance with no distractions from the artist and music. We decided to use a theatre and I hired in a second cameraman and lighting technician to use the venues lights. Afterwards I interviewed Kate to talk about the music and the new project.
The video and website took a few weeks and when Kate launched the new site the response was very good and gave her publicity manager a strong set of tools to advertise the new show.
